African Conservation Foundation
The African Conservation Foundation (ACF) works to protect Africa’s endangered wildlife and their habitats by conducting, supporting, and linking conservation projects throughout the continent. They build local capacity for the long-term sustainability of conservation projects. Founded in 1999, ACF fills a unique niche by creating an Africa-wide network for information exchange and capacity building of conservation efforts in the region. Environmental education in communities and primary schools is an important part of ACF’s conservation programs. ACF’s overall mission is to find and support solutions that benefit both people and wildlife. The organization conducts and supports field conservation projects, protecting great apes (gorillas, chimpanzees), big cats (lions, leopards, cheetahs), elephants, rhinos, and other wildlife in the East, West, and Southern Africa.
