Go Cruelty Free - Brands Leaving Positive Pawprints
Here is a list of some of our favourite brands that DON’T test on animals; so you can pamper yourself, your loved ones and clean your homes whilst knowing other creatures aren’t suffering. Read on to see our pick of the brands with the ultimate pawprint!
Animal testing is an unnecessary cruelty. Thousands of ingredients have already been tested on animals, and thousands of animals have suffered, been tortured, and lost their lives due to cosmetic purposes. Not only would the majority of ingredients have already been deemed ‘safe’ for human use, but the level of technology and research that is available should be enough. But for some companies, this is not enough, and they continue to test ‘new’ ingredients and products on animals. Whether it is their own company doing the testing or outsourced companies overseas doing their dirty work for them, the company is always responsible for such cruelty and should be held accountable.

3INA
The European brand 3INA now has stores located in Melbourne Central, and more recently Southland. Not only does the cosmetics and skincare brand have bright pigments and bold colours, but they don’t test on animals! They are also extremely affordable.
DE LORENZO
De Lorenzo’s products contain no animal ingredients or products tested on animals, are environmentally responsible, contain plant-based ingredients, and are 100% Australian made and owned. De Lorenzo seems to tick all the boxes for hair care that takes care in all aspects of production.
MOOGOO
Moogoo may be known for their animal puns, but their skin care products are free from animal testing. Their products often target skin conditions and are gentle on the skin too—an added bonus!
HERB DOCTOR
The Australian owned and made company Herb Doctor produces organic and vegan products. The products range from pet care, household cleaning, to skin care.
EARTH CHOICE
Earth Choice is another household cleaning brand that does not test on animals. The brand is an off branch of Natures Organic, which also uses plant-based and recycled packaging to ensure their impact on the environment is minimal.
ECO TAN
Many people choose fake tan to ensure they don’t damage their skin from sunlight, however, you can also ensure that you are protecting the environment and animals by choosing a brand such as Eco Tan. Not only is the story behind Eco Tan inspiring to both women and the world, but the products are organic and animal testing free. They also openly refuse to ship to China due to their animal testing laws.
iKOU
iKou’s range of skin, body, home and tea products are all ethically sourced and produced. One of the company’s founders, Naomi, explained that not testing on animals is ‘not enough to protect animals from harm’ in the industry. This is the very reason why their products are 100% vegan. Naomi explained that ingredients such as hyaluronic acid can derive from plants, rather than the animal source of rooster combs—which shows there are always ethical alternatives! Not only do they ensure they protect animals, but they have won environmental awards due to their manufacturing locations running on solar and wind power in the Blue Mountains. iKou’s candle waxes are sustainable, their skincare is palm oil free, and organic—therefore lack damaging chemicals. They even choose recycled or recyclable materials and even have compost bins in their staff rooms! A huge thumbs up to them!
What can we all do?
Awareness can be spread so society understands there are always cruelty-free alternatives for everyday products. Recommend these great products to your friends! We can also make it known to brands that we want, prefer, and condone products and brands that make a positive impact in all aspects of the environment and animal kingdom. If companies continue to follow the lead of the existing cruelty-free and environmentally friendly brands, the rest will have no choice but to follow!
